In May 2010 I attended an EMBL Course on Data Visualisation (described here) at which I first got to grips with the 3D animation program, Maya.

Below you can see the first fruits of my experience with the program. Nothing too serious - it simply shows off a little what you can do with the program. It is possible to read in pdb files of molecular structures and move them and the camera around.

The movie is was prepared with Quicktime and should play within most modern browsers. You can obtain the Quicktime plugin for free from Apple for Mac or PC platforms.
